Summer Reading Update – July

We’ve got about a week and a half left in July so I just wanted to share an update with you all. First of all, I want to say that I am really impressed with everyone’s participation, we’ve had over 150 entries this year so far! Currently, Team Sun is still in the lead, but Team Moon and Team Star have made massive comebacks in July and the scores are actually incredibly close!

July’s raffle winner will be contacted on August 1st so make sure to get your tickets in before next Thursday! Don’t worry if you’ve been busy this month, your previous entries will carry over.

For those who are hearing about this for the first time, it’s never too late to sign up! Just click here to register online, or stop by the reference desk the next time you’re in the library.

Thanks so much to everyone reading and attending programs this summer! Keep it up!

Teen Summer Reading 2019: A Universe of Stories

Welcome to Teen Summer Reading 2019!

The summer reading program is a great way to enrich your summer, hang out with other teens, and of course win some awesome prizes! Everyone who participates is entered into our monthly raffle drawing and will have a chance to win gift cards, treats, a Kindle Fire, and much more. Reading books, attending programs, and visiting museums all count toward your summer reading participation. The more you participate, the better your chances are of winning a prize!

Everyone who participates this year will also be assigned to one of three teams who will compete for bragging rights, fame, and glory.

If you haven’t signed up yet, you can register online!
If you’re already registered you can visit the teen section of the library to pick up some raffle tickets, click here to print your own, or just fill out a raffle entry online.

Check out our calendar of events and important dates too!

Keep checking this blog frequently for more summer reading updates. Thanks for joining us this year; good luck and have fun!

Taking your suggestions!

Library members can now submit suggestions to improve our young adult and graphic novel collections! Are there any titles that you’ve been wanting to read but aren’t willing to shell out $20 for at Barnes & Noble? Or do you have a favorite book that you think the library should buy so others can appreciate its greatness? Let me know by filling the form below!

Click here to submit your suggestion!

I can’t guarantee that we will be able to purchase every book that is suggested but I will certainly take all suggestions into account. The library’s collection should be a reflection of the community it serves and all input is greatly appreciated!
